In 2025, the Mark Hughes Foundation’s Big Three Trek brought together nearly 80 participants walking 150km from Sydney to Newcastle to raise funds and awareness for brain cancer research.

I was invited by Joe from Piccacino Mobile Café to capture a small part of this journey as the walkers passed through Redhead. Even in this short window, what I witnessed was extraordinary: pure perseverance, unwavering support, and unshakable strength. Rain, hail, or shine, the trekkers pressed forward together, carrying stories of loss, love, and hope with every step.

While my role was small, the impact of what I captured was deeply moving. This experience reflects the kind of work I value most by using film to capture authentic human stories in action.
